The case
Cash on delivery lets buyers without a card or e-wallet shop online. But when a COD order fails at the door, it earns nothing and still costs delivery both ways.
The case asked how TikTok Shop Philippines should cut those failures and grow prepaid orders. Its figures, like nearly three in ten COD orders failing, are fictional case data.
The recommendation
Keep COD and complete the handover. A buyer sets a delivery preference, such as who can receive the parcel; the courier accepts it before the route goes out; and a missed attempt gets a named owner who arranges what happens next. Standard COD stays for everyone else.
It starts as a gated pilot, not a rollout: carrier checks first, then a randomised test, with apparel and prepaid offers tested separately. The model runs on the case’s fictional data and planning inputs; the pilot is there to measure the real ones.

Where it stands
- The entry is in: the deck, the pitch video and the research site.
- The economics run on the case’s fictional data, so the site shows what a pilot must prove, not what it earned.
